“How To Be Grateful For People You Don’t Like?” By Pragito Dove

How To Be Grateful For People You Don’t Like?

By Pragito Dove

Gratitude is the foundation of abundance. It is the cornerstone of living a purposeful, rewarding, joy-filled life. Gratitude activates the positive law of attraction vibrations.

If there are people in your life that you don’t like, the negative energy vibrations you transmit toward them drag down your positive vibes, and you end up lower down on the “vibes scale” than you want to be. For example, let’s say on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 is your highest positive vibration, and 1 will be your most negative.

Even if you have high vibes with most people in your life, just having one person you don’t like can drag your vibes down to a lower level.

It is in your best interests to find a way to be grateful to all people — yes, even if you hate them, they drive you crazy, you are completely justified in hating them because of their unspeakably heinous behavior towards you.

Here are five keys to transforming your perspective.

  1. Discover the Root of the Problem

The first step is to spend time with yourself and look into what happens to you when this particular person sets you off. Take the focus off them and shine the light fairly and squarely on yourself. You probably find you’re filled with a turmoil of emotions: anger, frustration, irritation, hurt, disappointment, and so on. Allow these emotions to be there with non-judgment and compassion for yourself.

As you stay present with your emotions, they dissolve, and you quickly re-discover your inner peace, clarity of mind, and well-being. In addition, your sense of humor and creativity return. From this place of wisdom and clarity, you can start to move into compassion and understand that the other person is living in pain and fear and doesn’t know a better way to behave.

“The Water Way to Mastery” By SoFeya SahRa Joseph

The Water Way to Mastery

By SoFeya SahRa Joseph

For thousands of years people intuited that when they pray over the water they drink, it becomes “holy”. Intrigued, Japanese researcher, Masaru Emoto, conducted a series of experiments involving photography, demonstrating that water affected by thoughts and affirmations changes its crystalline structure.

We drink water every day. Our bodies are made of up to 80% water, which means that every cell of our body is up to 80% water… and our cells are conscious — they learn and adapt!

This was a revelation to me! When Masaru Emoto’s 2004 book, “Hidden Messages in Water,” reached me, it opened my mind to a possibility of change that was easy, powerful, and natural!

Searching for a Better Way

I was coaching competitive figure skaters and was seeking an effective method to maximize the performance of my athletes. Dr. Emoto’s idea was intriguing, but I didn’t understand how to implement it into practical life to derive sought-after results. I was skeptical.

It wasn’t until 2016 when I experienced significant personal and professional challenges that left me in a dire situation, that providence brought me back to this idea, and I gave it a try.

“Finding Peace in These Difficult Times” By Joan S. Peck

Finding Peace in These Difficult Times

By Joan S. Peck

Not so long ago, a woman remarked that I always seemed calm and unflustered. By the tone of her voice, I thought what she meant was that I was oblivious to my surroundings, or else I would be as upset as she was about what was happening in the world today. But having lived so many years now, I understood more clearly what I had control over and what I couldn’t change.

Manage Expectations

You don’t have to be a recovering alcoholic or drug addict to live by the AA serenity prayer: “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, and the Wisdom to know the difference.”

We all know the two primary human emotions are pleasure and pain. And, let’s face it, who doesn’t want it all—lasting love, money, fame, and success. Who can blame us, right? But what happens when those things don’t occur, especially in the way you want them to?

For us older folks, we’ve reached a time in our lives to know that “the train has left the station” on many things we were once able to do or desired to have or accomplish. We are in a place of reflection—often reviewing the what-ifs or what-could-have-been. That’s an essential step if we want to let any disappointments go.

Release the Past

After all, what good does it do to bang our head against the wall over something said or done in the past? Or not said or done in the past?

“Closed Doors Build Empires” By Wilnona Marie & Jade Dee, the And I thought Ladies

Closed Doors Build Empires

By Wilnona Marie & Jade Dee, the And I thought Ladies

Stair wells and elevator shafts are the first struc- tures in a building to be built because they need space and give the workers accessibility to the floors where they work.

Scaffolds outline the cement towers so the con- struction employees may complete the building floor by floor. When the first two structures of the envisioned building are built, they are a symbol of what will be there. A place of purpose with floors, no walls, no doors.

This is what our writing career was like when we started a book of poems and a reader base famil- iar with thriller/suspense. We had dreams of what could be built on that foundation, but no floors, just two literary structures jutting out the ground an- nouncing their dreams to the world.

Only our dreams saw the edifice in its entirety with- out the blanks between them. What put a roof on the house and walls for the roof to stand on were closed doors. What does that mean? Keep reading.

Learning Where To Start

Space is at a premium in any new structure. Like space, time is also valuable. Space normally only comes up in a writer’s life on the page, but for those with vision, space is more than a word count on an empty page. Most writers deliver their books into a world with no birth announcement and they have no idea how to get the word out.

Usually, the first thought beyond friends and family is a celebrity endorsement, such as Oprah or television shows like Good Morning, America. This is normal, but not where to start. Those doors are padlocked with virtual guarantee of a “no.” The gatekeeper won’t let a new author anywhere near those doors without serious publisher support.

“Drive to Thrive: Fueling Success in Business Partnerships” By Josh Carpenter

Drive to Thrive: Fueling Success in Business Partnerships

By Josh Carpenter

In the world of business, partnerships are the cornerstone of growth and success. When two entities come together, it’s not merely a transactional arrangement; it’s a dynamic relationship where both parties contribute and gain value. In this article, we explore the key elements that define enduring business partnerships and the trust, respect, and communication that underpin them.

Trust: The Bedrock of Success

At the heart of every prosperous partnership lies trust. This isn’t just any trust; it’s trust that’s unwavering, clear, and resolute. When contemplating a long-term partnership, trust in your counterpart is non-negotiable. Striking a balance between friendship and business is essential, as the two are distinct realms. Failure to establish trust can permeate the partnership and spell its doom.

Mutual Respect: The Power of Teamwork

Partnerships are all about collaboration. Regardless of the roles each partner plays or the hours they invest, success is a joint product of their efforts. Mutual respect is the glue that holds this collaboration together, ensuring that each partner’s contributions are acknowledged and valued.

Shared Vision and Values: A Blueprint for Success

A shared vision and shared values are the compass that guides a partnership towards its goals. It’s not uncommon for partners to lose focus once success is attained, diverting their creative energies elsewhere. Thus, it’s crucial that both partners have aligned ambitions and objectives to sustain their business partnership.

Honest and Open Communication: The Lifeline

In any partnership, open and honest communication is paramount. Even when addressing challenging topics like finances, mistakes, or management styles, transparency is key. Keeping secrets, striking side deals, or harboring exit plans can erode trust and lead to partnership failure.

Complementary Skill Sets: Bridging the Gaps

Successful partnerships thrive on the diversity of skills and experiences each partner brings to the table. Partners should openly discuss their strengths and weaknesses, ensuring a balanced partnership.

“From Symphony to Transforming History into a Screenplay: Rafaela and the Lily of the Prado” By Aimmee Kodachian

From Symphony to Transforming History into a Screenplay: “Rafaela and the Lily of the Prado”

By Aimmee Kodachian

Occasionally, in the vast expanse of the art world, a maestro emerges whose craft extends beyond its realm, stirring profound human emotions. Reynaldo Fernández Pavon is undeniably such a talent, seamlessly bridging the worlds of music and literature to produce both stirring symphonies and captivating stories.

Though initially a music aficionado, Reynaldo was also seduced by the allure of literature. His venture into the literary universe began with “Presagios,” an acclaimed work that clinched the First Prize in the David Poetry Competition of UNEAC in 1980. Subsequent works like “El Lirio del Prado” and “El Repatriado” further cemented his stature as a seasoned storyteller.

However, it’s “Rafaela and the Lily of the Prado” that stands out as his magnum opus. This masterful narrative recounts the riveting journey of Rafaela Alfonso, an embodiment of courage, resilience, and entrepreneurial spirit. Born in the shadows of slavery, Rafaela’s rise to prominence as the founder of “The Lily of the Prado” is a beacon of hope and triumph against overwhelming odds.

To appreciate “Rafaela and the Lily of the Prado,” one must first understand the multifaceted artistry of Reynaldo Fernández Pavon. Globally renowned for his symphonic compositions, his creations have graced stages from Matanzas to Moscow, earning accolades like the esteemed “13th of March” music award from the University of Havana.

Yet, Reynaldo’s creative endeavors aren’t limited to harmonious compositions. His foray into literature and theater reflects a dynamic range, from being honored for ‘Presagios’ to adapting Lydia Cabrera’s ‘Cuentos Negros’ for the Repertory Spanish Theater of New York.

Rafaela’s narrative transcends mere historical accounts. Through Reynaldo’s portrayal, she emerges as a testament to human fortitude. His rendition offers a delicate blend of fact and fiction, guiding readers through the tumultuous avenues of 19th-century America, revealing the spirit of a woman resolute to rise above societal confines.

Rafaela’s venture isn’t merely gastronomic; it becomes a bastion of cultural amalgamation, fostering an environment where ideas blossom and societal barriers melt amidst human camaraderie.

Reynaldo’s depiction of Rafaela’s life stands as a poignant reflection of human trials and triumphs. His knack for intertwining history, culture, and individual essence creates an experience that transcends traditional storytelling.

As this narrative gears up for its television adaptation, viewers will be privy to a tale that promises to be both timeless and far-reaching.

Reynaldo’s vision ensures Rafaela Alfonso’s legacy will be eternally celebrated, epitomizing hope, resilience, and the unparalleled power of tenacity.

Upon discovering Rafaela’s story, I was deeply moved and felt compelled to explore the TV series project further. Consequently, I approached Reynaldo with queries, believing the answers would intrigue you.

“Understanding Microbiome Health: Your Gut’s Well-being” By Heidi Mancini

Understanding Microbiome Health: Your Gut’s Well-being

By Heidi Mancini

Various diets have emerged over the years, advocating for the exclusion of certain foods. However, these elimination diets may not be as beneficial as presumed and pose risks to our well-being. They often deprive the gut of essential fiber, weakening the microbes crucial for our system’s resilience. Dietary fiber is a critical source that supports the thriving of microorganisms, aiding in the creation of beneficial compounds such as short-chain fatty acids. In contrast, diets rich in processed foods and sugars can promote the growth of detrimental bacteria, contributing to inflammation and various gut-related issues.

The gut microbiome is pivotal in maintaining overall health, especially preventing inflammation. Inflammation is the body’s primary defense against harmful stimuli, such as pathogens, injuries, or irritants. While acute inflammation is a short-term and beneficial response aiding in the body’s healing process, chronic inflammation can lead to many inflammatory diseases and long-term health complications.

Inflammatory diseases are recognized by persistent, low-level inflammation that can cause damage to tissues and organs. Conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, and atherosclerosis exemplify the impact of chronic inflammation. Rheumatoid arthritis, an autoimmune disorder, involves the immune system mistakenly attacking the body’s joints, resulting in pain and inflammation. On the other hand, Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis cause continuous inflammation in the digestive tract, leading to severe abdominal discomfort.

To promote gut health and reduce inflammation, prioritize a fiber-rich diet, prebiotics, and probiotics. These elements nourish beneficial bacteria, thereby maintaining a balanced microbiome. Additionally, lifestyle choices significantly impact gut health. A healthy lifestyle can foster a diverse and beneficial gut microbiome, while an unhealthy one might lead to dysbiosis, an imbalance of gut bacteria linked to specific health issues.

“RESPECTING ELDERS – A THING OF THE PAST?” By Dr. Angelika Selle

RESPECTING ELDERS – A THING OF THE PAST?

By Dr. Angelika Selle

Looking at today’s society, especially here in the United States, we don’t see much of what used to be called filial piety. Over the last 50 to 60 years, the tradition of giving honor and respect to parents, older adults, teachers, civic leaders, and so forth seems to have slipped away. Even in the business arena, Gen Z and others are challenging standards of respect. In our American culture, many children call their parents by their first names, treat them as equals or disrespect them. Popular movies and shows routinely put parents down.

As a result of this decline in generational respect, family bonds and culture are weakening, and our younger people can often feel a sense of inner emptiness, insecurity, loneliness, despair, and even hopelessness—indeed, not happiness. But the problem doesn’t rest only with youth, of course. When parents treat their children with disrespect and don’t truly invest and sacrifice for them, it is naturally more challenging for children to develop a respectful and loving heart.

Without a loving parent-child relationship, many potentially beautiful moments are missed. The challenge is finding the means to reintroduce respectful relations, love, and a filial heart in today’s families. It’s a huge enterprise, but it would surely lead to greater happiness for parents and children and enhance our society.

Thinking back to my childhood, I had an excellent relationship with my parents (although they divorced when I was a young adult). Having been raised in the Catholic tradition, I was taught from early childhood to obey my parents, respect my elders, observe etiquette, exhibit kindness with friends, and behave with decorum in public and at home. Although it was not always easy to obey when my mother asked me to do something like the dishes or when my father asked me to go to the cellar and fetch some coal for the oven, I overcame my dislike and complaint every time. I did the dishes or brought the coal. I felt a sense of inner joy and peace. I also felt good about myself. As I grew older, I  began volunteering to help my parents, which gave me an even greater sense of ownership and self-esteem. Even when someone did not appreciate my work, my heart felt always at peace.

“The Power of Faith: Navigating Life’s Challenges with Confidence” By Judi Moreo

The Power of Faith: Navigating Life’s Challenges with Confidence

By Judi Moreo

In a world filled with uncertainties, where fear often knocks on the door of our minds, Napoleon Hill’s words echo a profound truth: “Close the door of fear behind you and see how quickly the door to faith will open in front of you.” This sentiment captures the essence of faith, a force that transcends religious boundaries and speaks to the universal human experience.

Faith, in its broadest sense, is the confident assurance that something we desire will come to pass. It’s the certainty that our hopes are not in vain, even when the path ahead remains unseen. The need for spirituality has become more pronounced in today’s hectic world, characterized by stress and a quest for meaning. We yearn for purpose, connectivity, and a sense that a force larger than ourselves is guiding us through life’s twists and turns.

Faith is a deeply personal journey, embracing diverse expressions and perspectives. Individuals find solace and strength in their connection to this force, whether labeled as God, Creator, Buddha, or Higher Power. Faith is not confined to a singular path but opens doors to diverse spiritual awakenings. It is a powerful companion, offering strength in adversity, courage in the face of change, and resilience during life’s contradictions.

Faith becomes a guiding force when we shift our focus from fear and limitation to gratitude and positive action. Instead of resisting circumstances, faith encourages us to embrace a proactive approach, fostering gratitude for the blessings already present in our lives. This shift in perspective opens doors to creative problem-solving, sound decision-making, and a purposeful life journey.

Personal anecdotes, such as surviving a near-fatal accident, often reinforce the belief in a protective force at play. Moments of clarity during life-threatening events, coupled with a sense of divine intervention, reaffirm the transformative nature of faith. The conviction that a power greater than ourselves is present, guiding our paths, becomes a source of reassurance and resilience.

Faith is not a passive endeavor but an active force that requires commitment and action. While faith provides guidance and comfort, it is through intentional actions that we produce tangible results. The interplay between faith and action becomes crucial, emphasizing the need to translate belief into positive deeds.
